Hastings Yangibana Rare Earths Project
Hastings Technology Metals' Yangibana rare earths project in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia, planned as a two-stage development: Stage 1 mining and beneficiation at Yangibana producing up to 37,000 tonnes per annum of rare earth concentrate at 27% TREO, and Stage 2 a hydrometallurgical plant at Onslow producing up to 15,000 tonnes per annum of mixed rare earth carbonate (pre-separation). NAIF approved an increased loan of A$220 million in January 2023. The Stage 2 Onslow hydrometallurgical plant remains at the announced/planning stage; company timelines published earlier (first production by Q2 2025) had not been met at the time of this curation pass.
Location: Yangibana, Gifford Creek Station, approximately 250 km northeast of Carnarvon (Stage 2 hydrometallurgical plant planned at Onslow), Western Australia, Australia
