DPA Title III Technology Investment Agreement with Lynas USA for Light Rare Earth Separation (February 2021)
In January-February 2021, Lynas Rare Earths, through its wholly owned subsidiary Lynas USA LLC, entered a Defense Production Act Title III technology investment agreement under which the U.S. Department of Defense contributes $30.4 million toward establishing commercial light rare earth separation capacity in Texas, with Lynas expected to contribute approximately US$30 million. Recorded as a cooperative-agreement because a technology investment agreement is an assistance-type instrument.
